A series of seven engaging themes help kindergarten through
fifth grade students apply basic economic concepts to their
life experiences. Each them builds on the previous, stressing
the relationship between school and future success. Students
begin to see their place in the world as individuals, workers,
and consumers.
Young adulthood includes some of the toughest years of an
individual’s life. Students are struggling to establish their
own identities and life goals. JA’s programs for the middle
grades stress the importance of an education while introducing
students to economic concepts and information about the world of
work through fun activities that create enthusiasm for learning.
The older student is faced with many decisions. Often the experience of high school will set the course for many years to come: pursuing higher education, entering the workforce, becoming a parent. Whatever the choice, he or she needs to see those options, and prepare for the future by developing the skills needed to prosper in a progressively more independent lifestyle. |
